Home Sharing

Partnership

Front Porch’s Home Match program is a shared housing program that provides free personalized services in the Bay Area to help find the perfect match for you (learn more about how it works). They work with anyone over 18, typically matching an older adult home provider seeking to age in place with a community member seeking affordable housing. Some matches include a task exchange, in which a home seeker helps a home provider with household activities—such as cooking meals, running errands, or walking the dog—in exchange for even lower costs.

In our partnership, the Retirement Center makes referrals to Front Porch, who facilitates the home matching service. The Retirement Center no longer manage the matching process, but continues the educational part of the program that helps participants gain the skills and support they need for maintaining independence and housing that is affordable.
